Nyborg Gymnasium

Nyborg Gymnasium attracts students from the surrounding area of Nyborg and Eastern Funen - and from many parts of the world. Every year a large number of students come to the school to take one of our three programmes: The stx and hf (two national upper secondary programmes), and the IB (International Baccalaureate; a worldwide diploma programme).

A Closer Look at Denmark

Students who come to Nyborg from abroad (e.g. Spain, the United States and several Asian countries) often have Danish roots and think it's interesting to experience Denmark closer, while taking a Danish school diploma - or the international IB, taught in English, and providing direct access to most foreign universities. Some of our international students often know the IB system from the schools they have attended abroad.

International Environment at School and Boarding School

Foreign students who choose Nyborg Gymnasium contribute to an international atmosphere not only in the IB, but also in the whole school. In STX we offer a range of subjects and projects with international perspectives - e.g. the study area Going Global. The school is filled with a variety of languages both in the classroom and during breaks; English is the daily working language of many of our students. Whilst at Nyborg Gymnasium, you will meet many other young people from all parts of the world. This will give you a fine knowledge of yourself and of the world.

Active Student Democracy

Nyborg Gymnasium has democratic traditions and active students play a major role. They participate, influence and take responsibility for the daily life of our school. The school attaches great importance to a positive dialogue between the groups at Nyborg Gymnasium - students, staff and management.

Exciting and Safe Environment

The daily life of the students at Nyborg Gymnasium is both exciting and safe. With academic challenges, a good social environment and a safe, solid framework for all activities in high school. Both for the students who come from our local area - and for the students who come from other parts of the world. Most of our foreign students stay in our boarding school, where there are also many Danish students. Here, students have their own rooms and adult contacts around them. A modern, green and organic cuisine ensures that students get both a varied and healthy diet.
